Nursery and Preschools

Culham Science Centre Nursery & Preschool

Culham Science Centre, Thame Ln, Abingdon OX14 3EB, UK – 01865 408128

My daughter was in the toddler room, but also interacted with the baby room and the pre-schoolers and I feel the nursery is excellent in every respect. They were very helpful and attentive to my daughters particular needs. The staff were friendly, approachable and left me with no worries when leaving my daughter. One morning my daughter had slept through lunch so when I collected her after her morning session they had saved it for me to take home for her, so I can honestly say I’ve seen the food and that too is of an extremely high standard (which was quickie polished off when we got home). One thing I loved about the nursery was the outdoor play areas, children outside every day, but also that the toddler room had its own area but at times all rooms played together in a much larger environment. I feel this is brilliant not only for social interaction but for bringing on development, especially as my daughter did not have an older sibling. If I could have kept my daughter there longer I truly would have.

St Nicolas Pre School & Playgroup

Boxhill Walk, Abingdon OX14 1HB, UK – 01235 536061

My son attended St Nicolas Pre School in 2015/16, and my daughter a few years before that. The staff are fantastic, always doing a great job in keepng the children happy and stimulated, while teaching them so much and preparing them for school. Thank you St Nics.

Both my children have attended St Nicolas Preschool (2010/2011 and 2015/16) and they loved it. All the staff are great and I couldn't have asked for a better start to their education.

Primary and Secondary Schools

Thameside Primary School

44 Cotman Cl, Abingdon OX14 5NQ, UK – 01235 527600

I have had children going to Thameside for many years they have always done right by the children and always keep you up to date with what's going on and will always make referrals when needed Mrs Grice will always make time to talk to you if you have a problem (unlike some school) and is always at the school gate greeting the children no matter what the weather is Couldn't wish for a better school or teaching staff

Drayton Community Primary School

Hilliat Fields, Drayton, Abingdon OX14 4JF, UK – 01235 531316

Today, with my business Immersive Theatres, I delivered a 5m digital planetarium experience to 55 EYFS and Year 1 students at Drayton Community Primary School. I was warmly welcomed by the staff when I arrived and they helped me move my equipment inside. The day was well-organised with all groups arriving on time. The excited but well-behaved students enjoyed peering up at the planetarium night sky, visiting the International Space Station and travelling across the Solar System. Thank you Drayton Community Primary for a very pleasant visit.

Very Good! Drayton

Public & Preparatory Schools

Abingdon School

Park Rd, Abingdon OX14 1DE, UK – 01235 521563

Amazing

Overall good experience despite a destinct lack of interest in the syllabus. If you want to be taught how to pass exams then this is your choice. If you want to develop a love of learning, you will find this to be a fairly irregular trait among pupils. Sporting and arts are very well catered for with the only downside being along the same lines as just mentioned i.e. already interested and willing students are very well catered for while the unsure and unsteady are likely to be cast aside in favour of winning; merely taking part is not regarded as highly as it probably should be and this, in turn, leads to these students being ostracized even further by both teacher and fellow pupil alike.
